The EDUC project is an initiative of the NGO Guardians of the Sea, which has a partnership with the Petrobras Socio-environmental Program and promotes educational and socio-environmental actions in the municipality of Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense.

The Climate Reality Project in Brazil and Centro Brasil no Clima will participate next Wednesday (03/16), at 7pm, in the live Neighborhood Discussions: how can we act in the face of climate change?. The event is part of the second phase of the EDUC Project, by the NGO Guardians of the Sea, which develops socio-environmental actions focused on community protagonism aimed at young people in the municipality of Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense. The event takes place on National Climate Change Awareness Day and will be broadcast live on the NGO Guardians of the Sea YouTube channel.

Renata Moraes, regional coordinator of The Climate Reality Project in Brazil and consultant for Centro Brasil no Clima, will represent the two institutions in a lecture on how to popularize themes related to environmental issues and how citizens can contribute to mitigating climate change. “Initiatives like this are essential to bring knowledge about environmental problems to a wide audience, but, above all, to encourage the population to engage in these agendas. It is important that people are protagonists and that the environment, sustainability and climate change are everyday themes”, says Renata Moraes.
